All our beliefs and understanding of who God is and “whose we are” is grounded in grace. Grace is God’s unconditional and unlimited love. This love is extended to you, to me, to each and all. God accepts us as we are and invites us to become all we can be; to grow in love of God, neighbor, and one another. To use ones God-gifted talents for the way of Grace: mercy, love, and justice.
As United Methodists, we believe the Bible is the primary authority for faith and practice and is the inspired Word of God, containing everything necessary for salvation.
Our focus, as a congregation, is to build “Beloved Community”. A fellowship where each is welcomed, embraced, nurtured, encouraged and supported. Church is a people, not a place. We seek to build disciples of Jesus, the Christ, through worship, education, outreach, and fellowship. We strive to share God’s Grace with each and all for the transformation of ourselves, our community, and the world.
We believe faith without action is incomplete. These are just some of the ways that finds expression: we serve over 1,000 people each year through our annual coat drive, we maintain a free wig closet for women experiencing medical hair loss, our quilters group makes and hand out over 75 quilts a year to the homeless and those in need.
We are a founding partner with the GRACE House homeless shelter. We have an annual Habitat Week in the Summer and members who work on local Habitat sites throughout the year. We partner also with the Second Harvest Food Shelf serving 100 food relief agencies in a 7-county area of North Central Minnesota. Donations are received weekly.
New to the United Methodist Church?
In the United Methodist Church, we think church is more than a place to go for Sunday Service. Church is people. Church is community.
We think it’s important to live our faith both inside and outside the church walls, serving our neighbors and those around the world.
